Terms and Conditions

Privacy and Data Collection

When you first begin your course you will be asked to provide your consent for your de-identified data to be collected for research at The Bouverie Centre, La Trobe University. You may decline to have your data collected. This will not prevent you from continuing with the course.

Intellectual Property

All content and intellectual property included in the MERTIL courses remains the sole property of the authors and the MERTIL consortium.

In purchasing the MERTIL program, the organisation and each user agrees to acknowledge the intellectual property and copyright of all MERTIL material developed by the authors Prof Jennifer McIntosh and Prof Louise Newman, and to ensure that none of the MERTIL material is recorded, replicated or further distributed in any way, without the written approval of the authors and La Trobe University. The program cannot be shown to groups without a specific licence to do so, nor for profit.

Available Formats

Self-paced online

Enrol and complete the course anytime within the 3 month access period. Participants can pause, close, and resume from where they left off. There is no live interaction in this format.

In person

Entire program is run in-person at a pre-determined set times. There is no online component in this format.

Live Online

Entire program is run face-to-face via live streaming at pre-determined set times.

Webinar

Live online sessions where a speaker, or small group of speakers, deliver a presentation to an audience who participate by submitting questions, responding to polls and using other available interaction tools. Generally, the audience is not “visible” to other audience members, only the speaker(s) and their screen (should they wish) are visible. The audience type in their questions during the live session.

Blended

Combination of any/all of the above.

Access

Unless otherwise stated, access to a self-paced online course expires 3 months after date of purchase. It is recommended that all resources and certificates are downloaded before the expiry date. Participants will no longer have access to the content, resources, and certificate once access expires.

Refunds and Cancellations

We are unable to offer any refunds or accept requests for transfer of user access.

Workshops (if available)

Notifications of cancellations, refunds and requests for transfers must be made in writing to: enquiries@mertil.net.au. Alternatively call us on +61 (03) 8481 4800 to discuss your options.

More than 10 business days prior to in-person Workshops (if available)

Registered participants unable to attend a scheduled training course who notify us (in writing) at least ten (10) business days prior to the scheduled event, may either:

a) transfer to a course of equal value within 12 months of the original course commencement date, without any fee or penalty; or

b) cancel their registration and receive a refund less a 40% administration fee per course.

Less than 10 business days prior to in-person Workshops (if available)

If a participant cancels their place less than 10 business days prior to the scheduled workshop/event or fails to attend, the full price of course fee will be charged.*

* Registered participants who produce a medical certificate will be issued with a credit note for a course of equal value (less 30% of the course price).

While all efforts are made to ensure professional development events proceed as scheduled, MERTIL reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops/conferences due to circumstances beyond our control. In such an event, all fees will be refunded.

MERTIL is not responsible for non-refundable travel arrangement losses resulting from a course being rescheduled or cancelled.

MERTIL reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.
